Organic and Free Range Poultry

Our pasture-reared chickens, ducks and turkeys come from a poultry farm in North-Eastern Victoria. They are all given ample opportunity to range on pasture and are chemical-, antibiotic- and hormone-free. Their diet consists of a well-balanced mixture of GM-free grains, mineral supplements and pasture intake to provide optimal protein content and essential nutrients.
Each range area of 1.5 acres includes a 4m x 12 m shelter with custom-built feeding and watering facilities for protection from temperature extremes and predators.
Unlike ‘industrial’ chickens which are bred to reach market weight within 5 weeks, our free-range and organic chickens take 9 to 10 weeks to reach market weight, enjoying a lot more time ranging.
When it comes time to head ‘off to market’, they are transported in spacious units (6 birds per unit) that provide enough space to move around yet close enough for warmth. Periodic rest times are part of the journey and fluids are given when the temperature necessitates.
